We (Christians) have created a phenomenal subculture .......... But what we’ve really done is create a ghetto that is easily dismissed by the rest of society.

Interesting topic that started over on FB! Was curious if you guys have any extra thoughts to add to this topic?

cheers from Germany

Haitian Orphans and American Orphans
I was among the first to get caught up in a rumor last week that a plane carrying 300 Haitian orphans was headed for Indianapolis and families were needed to care for them. It was a feel good idea, just what the doctor ordered after days of being bombar… Continue

THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX a new marketing concept 1,000 True Fans

Wow 2 great articles you need to read if you are trying to create for yourself a fan base. Both article are based off of 1000 true fans. Here's a small taste from both articles.

Tiger Woods

I want to rant real quick!

It is REDICULOUS how the media and society demand to know EXACTLY what happened with his accident. It's as if his fans are OWED the story and the truth. Give me a break! Just because you read his twitters or watch his commercials or see him on the television when he makes his next putt doesn't mean he has to tell YOU why he did what he did.

Lastly my best guess, is that he and the wifey were in a big argument and he either left in the car and the wifey used the clubs… Continue

Hey Travis,
It's cool that you connected with Janina. I also had lunch with her here at the ICVM conference last fall. She is a good contact for you in the German film world. Her partner in the doc that was at Sabaoth is also a good guy, Christopher Cuhls. He's on FB also.

I am finally hearing again from our sales agent. Just got a response from an e-mail today. They're gearing up for the next markets: Sundance, Berlin, Prague, etc. He has promised a report in the next week or so (hopefully before Sundance) and that will give me an idea of where they are at in Europe.

Crazy thing happened this week also; a guy in the Netherlands sent me a complete Dutch translation of the script. And he hasn't even seen the film! He heard about it from a friend and got his hands on a word doc we had sent to someone else.

Blessings,
Tom

I e-mailed you but it said it could not be sent to your server. Do you have an alternative e-mail address?

Send me your e-mail so I can send you an application form to add you and your wife to my translator database. Cheers!

Hi Travis, I am in Italy just through June 2010 then I will move back to Spain where my husband has a Pharmacy. My husband is here working at the University of Catania in Sicily just for 10 months. I work full-time for Aberdeen Captioning as the director of multi-language subtitling and translation. I used to work in-house in California as the director of post-production captioning, but being in Europe works best for this department when coordinating with translators and clients worldwide. It is amazing how easy technology makes things! What do you do?

Hi Travis,

We are very interested but time is an issue. We have been working to knock out two major dialogue replacement projects. One film was in Vietnamese and the other in Romanian. We have them both in Cantonese now and today we are knocking out the M&Es. I would like to look into it some more so many thanks for the link. We will see what we can do. Blessings from Thailand, Tom

I think I did see it. The War movie with the girl hiding and what not? I thought that one was excellent. Bounty is on Video and BluRay in North America but we are working International distribution. One of the producers on the project lives in Berlin.
