Shane's Bio

Shane Sooter is the Artistic Director/President of City on a Hill Productions. The official line is: "Shane is responsible for charting the long-term artistic and ministry goals that will guide the company, project selection and development, and directorial duties in all major productions." However, those in the know understand that his days are spent with equal measures of daydreaming, YouTubing and trying to understand the budgets he habitually exceeds. Shane received a BFA in Acting from Southern Methodist University, which prepared him spectacularly for his first career as a waiter. In all honesty, his best ideas come from his brilliant wife, Jana. She’d take over his job if he didn’t keep her locked away and busy homeschooling their four kids: Anjel, Dakota, Caleb, and Micah.

Shane, thanks for sharing the clips. They are stunning. I can't wait to see the completed study in HD. One of the things that stands out to me as I watch them is how mindful and deliberate the story is told. Nothing is rushed. You find yourself wanting it to move along and it won't. Everything about how it unfolds forces you to be in the moment, to consider what you are seeing. 'Experience' captures it perfectly. It was an absolute joy to be a part of - thank you for the opportunity. Grace & Peace -

Shane, I watched all of the videos - very powerful and great production value. You make a good Jesus. I love it when Jesus laughs. God bless on all of the hard work and thanks for sharing. I feel honored and humbled that we were given access before your family. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Happy Thanksgiving! We have a lot to be thankful for. How is distribution on your production doing? We are gearing up for our movie Women of the Corinthian Cafe and I am curious as to what budgeting software you are using?

Be blessed!

Hi Shane-
I am an editor/producer in Orange County, CA. I edit at a post house doing commercials and infomercials and then I produce clips for churches once in a while from my garage.
I recently saw some videos you produced online and I was very impressed.

I found this site because I saw an add on Sermon Spice where I have been uploading some videos I have produced.

Keep up the good work-
