Ok, film makers, help me out. If a new filmmaker wanted to attend one festival/event in the next six months which one should it be? Doesn't have to be Christian, though if there are some outstanding ones among us that would be great too. Please give your opinion and a sentence to justify it. This could be helpful for some of us who would love a dynamic event to stimulate us and give us some benchmarks for our own work (I live in Thailand so its a big deal for me to come to the States for such a thing). Thanks!
Thanks Donald...
Yeah my international film Coppelius was a semi-finalist in that film festival. I think that they have good hearts but they are a little bit too conservative and limited in their thinking. Their prize is the largest for any film festival in the USA. It was definitely an experience to be there... Kirk Cameron and Stephen Kendrick were guests of honor. However of the 2500 people in attendance.. half of em were under the age of 18!
cheers Travis
One that Clyde didn't mention which I feel will be the single most important event as far as close networking for Christian filmmakers is the Gideon Media Arts Conference and Christian Festival.
We have some great details regarding this festival on our site. An entire page dedicated to telling you about the Gideon.
Check it out and tell us what you think. God bless!
The purpose of this group is to discuss and share best practices on how to increase awareness, connect with your "audience" and spread the message of Christ broader through your visual tools and resources.
